Welcome to our homepage. We at Creations by Lynanne are multi-talented in the crafts we both follow. I do and have done many crafts over many years. Most recently I have been creating reborn babies or as we call them, unreal babies, and learning how to weave. Spinning is also on my to-do list.
I love making the babies and watching them take on their lives and personalities. Yes I know they are inanimate beings, but they still have their different looks and personalities. Some have very cheeky little faces and others have a cuteness overload.
One of the really interesting things about baby making is the same kit can be used by two people or even by the same person and every baby is different. They truly are one of a kind.
My current thing/s to weave are Lavender Pillows. These can be placed in cupboards and drawers or as an aid for a good night’s sleep by placing them under your pillow. They are filled with dried lavender from our own bushes and smell divine. Other than that I have woven a scarf, a table runner, a couple of small cushions for the babies and a small pram blanket. There will be more projects in the future.
In addition to creating the babies I also handmake their outfits that are mostly handknitted vintage layettes, although I am beginning to make some designer items that are also knitted.
However Lyn is more into woodworking and a new skill she is just beginning of glass etching. She has made a selection of reborn doll painting stands amongst other things. She is planning on making bird feeders soon. I think they will look pretty good too.
As far as her glass etching is concerned, she is still in the learning stages, but is considering a number of different items to be added to her list in the future.
